Less is more. Sometimes, less truly is more.
And in the world of H. Moser & Cie., “less” is often synonymous with “masterpiece.”

The Philosophy of Less

Moser’s philosophy has always revolved around radical simplicity — stripping away everything unnecessary until only the essence of watchmaking remains.

The brand once even took that to the extreme: in 2019, Moser released a watch without hands. The only way to tell time? By listening to its minute repeater — a beautiful absurdity that sold for “just” USD 350,000.

In Moser’s language, such watches belong to the “Concept” line — a family of pieces defined by total purity and the absence of logos or inscriptions.
The Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green exemplifies this philosophy perfectly: an unadorned, almost meditative exercise in restraint that somehow dazzles the eye.

Case and Proportions

Part of the Endeavour collection — a favorite among Moser devotees — this model features a 40 mm stainless-steel case, 11 mm thick, with a 47 mm lug-to-lug span.

Its entirely polished surfaces, concave case flanks, and gently curved lugs make for a refined yet expressive presence — sophisticated, elegant, and just the right amount of flamboyant.

The Magic of the Lime Green Dial

But of course, the true showstopper is the dial — a hypnotic lime-green expanse that glows like a lush field of moss under morning light.

To create this effect, Moser employs a multi-step artisanal process:

  1. The gold dial base is chemically etched to produce uneven topography, similar to the tremblage technique seen in haute horlogerie pieces by Moritz Grossmann and A. Lange & Söhne.
  2. Then, three pigment powders are washed, crushed, and individually applied, each oxidized to achieve the brand’s signature fumé gradient.
  3. Finally, the dial is fired up to 12 times to form a Grand Feu enamel surface that creates the luminous, smoky depth unique to Moser.

Reviewers from aBlogtoWatch and Monochrome Watches have called it “optical alchemy” — when tilted just right under light, the dial’s micro-reliefs literally appear to rise and sink, as if alive.

Hands and Finishing Touches

Above this magical surface, Moser’s signature leaf-shaped hands — crafted in white gold — sweep elegantly across the dial. Despite lacking lume, their geometry and polish ensure perfect readability.

And in true Moser fashion, there’s one unexpected twist: the seconds hand, instead of matching the others, is heat-blued — a deliberately discordant detail that somehow works, precisely because it shouldn’t.

Movement: HMC 200

The beauty continues beneath the sapphire caseback, where the in-house HMC 200 automatic calibre resides.

Running at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), it offers a 3-day power reserve (often more in practice).

Highlights include:

  • Moser’s proprietary Straumann hairspring,
  • A heat-blued balance bridge, and
  • An 18K gold skeletonized rotor, all immaculately finished.

It’s a movement that quietly reaffirms Moser’s place among true haute horlogerie houses.

While not a limited edition, Moser’s confident slogan — “Very rare” — speaks volumes. Even regular production models are built in extremely small numbers, making any Concept piece an exclusive find.
