An incredibly thin PIAGET in 18K white gold
As we wrote quite a lot about ultra-thin watches made by PIAGET, it’s no jokes to say they’re now the only watchmaker can achieve something thin at an out-of-one’s-mind level. When a conventional way to reduce the thickness of a watch is to reduce the thickness of its components, PIAGET doesn’t just do that, they has evolved to one brilliant solution: using the watch case as a base plate.
With that being said, we want to emphasize the fact that PIAGET is a true master of making thin watches. And the piece we presents here reflects that craftsmanship strongly.
This PIAGET ref. 9152 is unique in both style and technology. Crafted in 18K white gold, this watch represents someone who likes to go low-key but does mean business. The rectangular shape hand-engraved with diamond guilloche motif gives a look you cannot find elsewhere. The gorgeous and seldom-seen midnight blue dial plays with light surprisingly, reflecting different shades of colour in different angles.
Beating inside is the refined and (we have to say this again and again and again) super thin movement: calibre 9P. Measured ONLY 2 mm thin, this movement still offers a healthy 36H power reserve. Adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, vertical Côtes de Genève, circular-grained mainplate, beveled and hand-drawn bridges, even when you don’t understand these terms, the movement is still good-looking to naked eyes.
This PIAGET is one of many perfect examples to celebrate nature’s demand, to always do more and take craftsmanship to new heights, to be captured in a discreet and powerful design.
