Have existed for nearly two centuries, the respectful JAEGER-LECOULTRE helps define ‘complicated luxury’. The Maison is among the world’s top watchmaking innovators, therefore, it is highly appreciated by horologists worldwide. Long story short, the brand deserves the title Watchmaker of Watchmakers.
Unlike the Reverso we introduced recently, today’s special is a watch that we do not believe actually exist – a highly unusual vintage JLC in solid silver 800, with a twist on the bezel.
The watch bears a rectangular case with rounded edges. The 28 x 39 mm case is made out of solid silver, which gives a satisfying heft as well as appears quite large when worn on the wrist comparing to the ones from the same era.
The striking textured dial is also finished from a silver plate, with a visual effect of the snowflake-like dial found on GRAND SEIKO. Combining with raised hour markers, the whole surface stands out boldly.
Inside the watch beats a manual-winding calibre 818/2, constructed with 17 jewels. As should note the fact that VACHERON CONSTANTIN and CHOPARD did adapt the movement into their past collections, well proves even though this is not one of those top-of-the-market movements, it gives more value than it was meant to build.
