Founded not so long ago (in 1983), CHRONOSWISS is quite a relatively young Swiss watch company. Famously for regulator watches bearing some signatures like oversized onion crowns, knurled bezels, and long screwed strap lugs, CHRONOSWISS has gained good recognition over the last decades.
However, today we are offering something completely different, one of the earliest pieces of the brand sold in 1990, the CHRONOSWISS Complete Calendar in a retangular case. This is a very special piece, since even in modern days CHRONOSWISS do not make retanglular watches anymore, as well as the complete calendar mechanism.
Measured 26.5 x 32 mm in diametre, this one cannot really fit the category ‘Vintage’. The size feels a bit large on the wrist thanks to the lugs which can reach up to 38 mm. However, no matters what is complicated inside the case, the piece still achieves an incredible thinness at just 8 mm.
Now the selling point, which is a complete calendar complication: date, day, month, and moonphase. All displayed on a soft white dial which is better than coloured ones that might cause bad readability. The pretty classic layout with date at 12, month at 3, days of the week at 9, and the moonphase at 6, together the layout brings something familiar for the eyes.
All the hands are thermally blued, collaborating with the black print on the white background, everything pops out as expected.
